Kent Wings Xmas Night Out

A goodly number of Kent Winger's turned up on the saturday evening at The Village Urban Resort Hotel in Maidstone for the Xmas Bash.
After a few stater drinks in the lounge bar befor the action started, the hotel fire alarm went off, not wanting to vacate quickly, Kents Wings were one of the last ones to leave the bar and head for the car park, some members were caught in thier gym gear and others in their shower caps, some did not even leave their rooms, after 10 mins or so it was back to the bar.
After the meal was served we were entertained by the hotel DJ with great music and some singing performed by the DJ. Judging by the people in the morning at breakfast ,nobody seem to be worse for the wear or had sore heads. All in all a good time was had by all.
Thank you to all those who attented.

Beachy Head Run May 2014

May bank holiday Monday turned out a hot sunny day
and perfect for a ride out to the coast. So at 10am
in a layby near Snodland 3 x 1500 Solo, 2 x 1800
Trikes assembled for a ride down to Beachy Head
in East Sussex. The ride took us down the A288
to Tunbridge Wells, then onto the A267 to
The Burling Gap Cafe on the beachy head road.
The roads were very clear as most people were
going on the Hastings Run. After a spot of lunch at
Beachy Head we set off to Eastbourne sea front where
Slyvie treated us all to Ice Creams (99's).
After a couple of hours soaking up the sunshine we
set off back the way we came on a slow cruise home.
Thanks to Ken,Slyvie,Brian,Sue,David,Eunice,John,Julie,
Lynne and Dave
for a great day out.

Hunstanton Light Run 2014

March 28th - 31st

Eight Kent Wingers made the journey to north Norfolk for the yearly light run at Hunstanton.
Three solo's and one trike made the epic journey across water and through the countryside.
We all stayed at the Searles Holiday Park just on the edge of town. Weather was absolutly brillant and perfect on the saturday for the show of bikes on the town green, all together some 42 goldwings were on show for the public to see and admire. In the evening the light run took place with two circuits around the town, overall there was over 200 people that stood on the streets cheering as all paraded by. On the Sunday a ride out was orgainised to go to Sherringham, what a lovely coastal ride it was, weather again was perfect and the route just great. Thank to Roy and all the Norfolk wings for there hospitality over the weekend. Money raised for in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Granny Run May 2014

Six bikes from Kent Wings made the trip to The Grange at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford. Essex. for the annual Granny Run orgainized by Essex Wings. The day started off a bit wet, but it soon cleared up for a great day's ride. We were all issued with a Granny while our passengers were treated to a ride in an old London double decker bus, 38 wings set of into the Essex countryside to our destination at the Waldergraves Holiday Park on Mersea Island, where we stopped for lunch and refreshments. The return journey was equally picturesque and some Granny's were heard screaming as some of us opened up on the A12 return  route. All in all a good day was had by all and lots of money was raised towards Brianwave's Children Charity. Great thanks to all that attended and all that orgainized it.

Your Never Too Old

Yvonne from Ashford (Kent) is 73 years young and
has wanted to ride on the back of a bike for a
number of years, especially a Goldwing. Being a
friend of one of our members they offered to
fulfill this wish. So on 18th April 2014, 6 members
of Kent Wings went along to Yvonne's house and
picked her up and took her for a tour around the
Kent coast, stopping at Capel Le Fern for afternoon
tea. After her tour of 73.9 miles and returning her
home safe and sound with a big grin, Yvonne
and her husband Clifford kindly donated 50
to our charity. Many thanks to Sylvie & Ken
for orgainizing this and John, Julie,
Lynne & Dave for attending.

Hi Kent wingers. on Saturday  (19th July) As requested by Pete I went down to the new services on the (M20) near Hythe, to meet up with the east Kent M.A.G. rep (Phil Pickering) to do a small charity run for a lady called Suzanne, with teriminal cancer, from the services to Leeds castle. I was met there other wingers ,Dave,Bill & partner ,Mick on his trike, and most of the other bikes were made up from Invicter, plus one of their members on a Suzikl  came from Leicester, (34 bikes) in total. As things did not turnout to plan, Suzanne was taken very ill early Saturday morning,so we headed up to her home instead in Lymn, all 34 bikers in a dead end road, and she had some pictures taken on a trike.
